A day after asking customers to conserve water, the City of Braggs is issuing a boil order for all water.
The Town Clerk says the city has four wells that supply the water, one of those wells is having issues and starting to go dry. The water towers are still working, but have low supplies. On Monday, officials asked people in Braggs to conserve water by stopping outside watering, not filling swimming pools, using as little water as possible.
On Tuesday, officials issued a boil order due to low water pressure in the water system and potential contamination because of this situation. Officials advise everyone using water in Braggs to bring the water to a ful boil for one minute before consumption, food preparation, dish washing, tooth brushing, wound care, and bathing infants.
The state has agreed to open a shared line between Braggs and Camp Gruber to help water supplies, it is not clear when that line will be up and running.
