Benefit being held for injured city worker

The AFSCME Local 1180 is hosting a benefit carnival and cookout for injured City of Tulsa employee the Robert K. Bower.

The event will be at the Tulsa Event Center, 2625 S. Memorial Drive, on Oct. 19 from 4-8PM.

Bower was injured in a gas fire at a Tulsa apartment complex.

All City of Tulsa employees, both union and non-union, and the Tulsa public are all welcome. The event will feature music, carnival style games, grilled food and snacks and is open to the public.

There will be food, games and several raffles for prizes generously donated by sponsors which include Reasor’s, QuikTrip, Blue Ox Dining Group, Mr. Kleen Karwash, McNellie’s Group, Alloy Welding Supply, The Tulsa Event Center, Tulsa Oilers and Tulsa Drillers.

Southwest Tulsa Trophy created custom medals for the men who pulled Robert Bower to safety.

Donations for Robert and his family can be made at Saturday’s event or through any Bank of Oklahoma branch.
