Barbie is always a popular Christmas gift, but believe it or not she's on an FBI watch list.
She's "Video Girl" Barbie. Fox 23's Jamie Oberg explains why Barbie is on the FBI’s naughty list this Christmas.
There's plenty of Barbie Dolls inside Toys 'R Us. But you won't find "Video Girl” Barbie, that’s because they’re sold out. It's a hot toy this season.
The FBI warns in the wrong hands, this toy could become a toy for sex predators on-line.
"I like her hair and her style,” Leilani Conaway said.
Dad, Ronald Conaway doesn't mind "Video Girl" Barbie being on store shelves, even though the FBI is keeping an eye on her.
Ronald Conaway "Shouldn't be that big of an issue, but parents should definitely be aware of it,” dad, Ronald Conaway said.
He says it's even o-k if Santa brings his daughter one.
We asked little Leilani what sorts of things she would film on her Video Girl, “Some things about my baby sister and songs and stuff,” she said.
She looks like any other Barbie, but she's got a video camera inside her body, that can record 30 minutes of video, and kids can download it to a computer.
But the FBI says in the wrong hands Barbie could be an accomplice to child sex crimes.
"Just last night I was at the sexual predator list here in Tulsa, there's quite a few,” Ronald said.
Ronald wisely has on-line protection so if Santa does bring Barbie home, predators will be kept out.
Quite a few people we talked to think this Barbie with a camera in her chest is going too far.
"That's just really creepy; that's disturbing,” Bonnie Bracken said.”I don't think it should be on the market at all. I mean it's a toy that predators can use you know."
Bonnie grew up playing with Barbie, but says she's not taking her chances, buying “Video Girl” Barbie for her nieces.
“Put her in different outfits, take her shopping or whatever, but this is taking it too far."
