Broken Arrow police say a school bus driver has died following a collision early Monday. At approximately 6:35 am, Broken Arrow officers responded to the 2300 block of East Kenosha Street in reference to a collision involving a school bus.
Upon arrival, officers determined that Broken Arrow school bus driver Gary Wagner, 68, lost control of his vehicle and collided with three unoccupied parked cars in the parking lot of a business located at the 2400 block of East Kenosha Street.
Wagner was transported to Hillcrest South in Tulsa, where he was later pronounced dead. There were no signs of injury as a result of the collision, and at this time it is believed that Mr. Wagner suffered from a sudden health issue, which was the apparent cause of the collision. Wagner had just started his shift, and had not yet picked up any students on the bus.
Family members say Wagner suffered a sudden and unexpected heart attack, but had never suffered any other serious medical problems. His funeral is set for Monday.
