EMSA paramedics alerted emergency crews when a patient armed with a knife broke thru their ambulance window and escaped.
As you can see in the mug shot, Meyers' head was wrapped in bandages. The suspect is now recovering in jail after an incident with EMSA and police.
His arrest report showed Broken Arrow police responded to EMSA's call when the paramedics alerted them Meyers escaped their custody and that he was armed with a knife, bleeding from the head and headed toward the Holiday Inn Express. EMSA is only allowed to confirm they were responding to a medical call.
While officers were on their way, dispatch says they received a call from a guest in the hotel. The guest called in because they saw a man bleeding and armed with a knife.
When officers arrived they heard yelling from the second floor and saw Meyers bleeding from the head, clenching a weapon. Police say Meyers dropped his weapon and laid on the ground.
The ambulance window has been fixed.
Police checked Meyers' record and he had eight warrants for charges including burglary, assault and theft.
Meyers didn't go far before getting medical treatment; he was transported to the Broken Arrow St. John Hospital and booked into jail on $13,000 bond.
