Officials with Armstrong Bank in Muskogee said individuals were targeted by receiving phone calls attempting to gain check card numbers and account information.

Armstrong Bank is working with the Oklahoma Bankers Association fraud unit. Similar scams have been going on throughout the state with several different financial institutions being targeted.

Officials want consumers to know:

•Armstrong Bank is safe and has not been compromised
•Customer information with Armstrong Bank is safe and secure
•Our area is being targeted by a Robo-dialing or Phishing scam
•Armstrong Bank or any other financial institution would never ask or solicit account information.
•In the event of fraudulent activity Armstrong Bank’s fraud department will contact you with a live person, not an automated call

They said anyone that gave out card or account information, need to report it to the bank immediately.

Armstrong Bank customers may do so by calling the 24-Hour Automated Telephone Banking at 1-888-201-1000 or by calling Customer Care at 1-888-680-2655 during normal business hours.
