Not a politician, but he's campaigning by hitting the streets with his message.
“Take a look at the facts,” said David Tackett.
"I’ve got a problem with how this is being done," said Tackett.
He’s talking about a quarter-cent sales tax proposal. Money that would support Bell's Amusement Park coming to the Coweta area, the vote is two months away. Enough time for him to convince people in Wagoner County to say no.
"What we are saying no to is the way it’s being financed, the way it’s being proposed," Tackett.
Instead, he'd like to see owners fund the project themselves.
Tackett says financially, times are too tough.
"We're only part of the package," said Robbie Bell, President of Bell's Amusement Park.
Bell says the total package includes bringing money to the areas economy.
“This is a very conservative area and an over-taxed area," said Tackett.
Between now, and voting day, David figures he'll drive his point’s home through word of mouth, and through his new website. The address speaks for itself. nobell'stax.com.
"We can't raise taxes," said Tackett.
Bottom line, he says the bottom line matters most.
The vote on July 27 will decide what's next for bells and Wagoner County.
