The Wall Street Journal is reporting that a merger between American Airlines and U.S. Airways could be announced next week.

If approved the deal would create the world's largest airline. And as FOX23's Adam Paluka reported, raises for all American Airlines workers. Employees would immediately see raises of 4.3 percent until the Transportation Workers Union negotiated a contracts with the new company.

Sources are saying, significant points of the deal are unresolved. Like how to split ownership and arrange the seats on the new company board.

American Airlines is working to reach a deal before Feb. 15, when a non-disclosure agreement signed by American's bondholders expires.
