DALLAS (AP) - American Airlines' parent company says it lost $904 million in December - more than in the first nine months of 2011 combined.

Revenue was $2 billion in December, American's first full month operating while under bankruptcy protection. AMR Corp. disclosed the numbers in a filing late Tuesday with a federal bankruptcy court in New York.

Company executives are meeting with employees Wednesday in Fort Worth, Texas, to detail concessions they want from unions under a reorganization plan. Unions expect the company to propose job cuts and either freeze or end American's pension plans.

AMR filed for bankruptcy protection on Nov. 29. It lost $884 million in the first nine months of 2011 and about $11 billion
since 2001.

See every body blames AA. But u get to look at the ppl that work for them to i now some that work there andthey do not work that hard out there. And they went me to feel sorry for them no yes the older workers are getting it bad. The new age workers all the say is i went more and keep pushing and pushing the companys tell they close or bankruptcy. I was in one for 3 years and will not do it again.

I respect the right of AMR to negotiate with existing employees even through bankruptcy. But it is tragic that AMR is seeking to cancel penion plans and medical insurance coverage for elderly retirees who retired from AA thinking they had provided sufficiently for their golden years. Sadly, we are are going to see 70 year olds forced to sell their homes and go back to work. I will never fly American again.
