There’s big news coming down for American Airlines, but for the people it could affect most, thousands of employees, they don't know what it is.
"To say exactly what it means, nobody can do that," said John Hewitt, Chairman for the Local Union 540.
"We need a change and hopefully this is the change that needs to happen," said Hewitt.
The change he's talking about has been discussed all weekend long: the boards of American Airlines parent AMR Corp. and US Airways could decide early this week whether to merge their two companies.
"The best outcome is preserving as many of those 7,000 jobs as we can,” said Jim Farm, VP of Tulsa Chamber.
"Very realistic scenario is to keep from losing as many jobs," said Fram.
Also, under the deal taking final shape, AMR shareholders would own slightly more than 70 percent.
