FSGog :-| That's all well and good. I view Spartan as an academic institution. The housing for such qualifies under education regulations. How/Why is a weapon allowed at that facility?? Spartan bears some responsibility for fostering this situation. Tell us how you plan to prevent future incidents similar to this.

As a member of the Spartan family and active memner in that community, I stongly condemn the violent actas that have occured that Thursday night. My heart goes out to the family of Chaz, whom I met at his orientation and to his family. There is a solution to the problem. If we can stay focus on what we came doen to Spartan for, we willa chieve it. We get what we want the most when we focus on it. I wish to thank the TPD for their continuing support and the apprehension of the suspect. I pray that God will protect and serve the righteouss and those who are on the side of justice. God Bless us all.

The man that was shot and killed was a good friend of mine he went to a rival high school just across the river both small town schools. He was one of the strongest people I know winning state in weight lifting. But he was one of the nicest calmest people i know. His loss is a terrible one. Who cares about how the college cares about its students. It has nothing to do with the college or the appartment complex. It boils down to people having no remorse for the sake of others. And Chaz was one that did, so for Mark to shoot him it must have been because he is a piece of blank and when he is found guilty nothing is gonna happen he is just gonna sit on death row for twenty plus years like every other criminal in the united states that has committed murder.

Spartan Landing was built to circumvent the neighborhood's desire to be bought out when the noise mitigation program was proposed back in 1998. The rationale? If the school built housing, then it must stay a residential area. But since then, there have been MANY management and operating companies overseeing the apartment complex, and most not too well. BTW, Spartan School was recently sold to another out-of-state entity. The neighbors haven't seen or heard anything about what they plan to do about the apartments.

I graduated from Spartan several years ago. It's a great school with lots of potential and tons of history but I have to say, they definitely don't do a good enough job screening people. And I agree with Camille24, the security around there is a joke. When you get that many guys together from all around the country and put them in an apartment complex together, bored out of their minds and looking for something to do, trouble will follow.

Spartan could do a better job screening clients :-(( They did after all train AlQueda for 911. Don't get me wrong it's not their fault that they were targeted in such a way. You'd just think that they'd learn by now. Maybe tomorrow. But don't count on it.

It's definitely not Spartans fault just because it happened at the Landing. It Was Mark Hopkins fault.

22 degrees out there Hopkins was lucky to be apprehended. Be calling him frosty otherwise. I wonder what caused all that ruckus.

I have indeed never heard of anything like this at Spartan and have known that community for a long time. My prayers go out to the Spartan community. A lot of good people there.
