FOX23 has learned a Tulsa Police Department captain is on administrative duty after allegations surfaced about an inappropriate sexual relationship.

Captain Shawn King told FOX23 he is on administrative duty pending the outcome of an investigation in Osage County.  A former girlfriend of King's filed a protective order against him last week.  Osage County court officials tell FOX23 the order alleges King had an inappropriate sexual relationship with her daughter.  King is cooperating with the investigation and let deputies know where he is to serve the protective order.

In Oklahoma, a judge can issue a protective order based only on what the person requesting it says, no criminal charges have been filed against King.  Internal TPD documents confirmed he was suspended for reportedly engaging in sexual activity in his squad car in 2009.

Last week, TPD Chief Chuck Jordan said this was the only allegation made to the department against King and it is a violation of policy.   Jordan said no allegation was made to the police department about King about criminal activity.

A hearing for King is scheduled for mid-May.   King tells FOX23 he is focused on his job and is ready to get this settled and put it behind him.

I agee, used to be a few TPD officers who did their job and did what was right, I don't really believe there are any left, unless they are women officers, they seem to still be ok, the rest seems like a rogue organization now. Not only do we have to worry about the punks and thugs, we have to worry about the men who are supposed to be protecting us.

Another corrupt TPD officer. They think they are untouchable becouse there chief has and always will cover up there illegal behavor. They definatly protect there own. Pretty soon it will not be safe at all to call the police in Tulsa. So sad the whole department should feel ashamed.

I don't think the News originally posted this as so many TPD officers have been arrested or put on leave through many allegations that is is no longer "News Worthy". It's good they did report on it as this lets TPD pretend they are going to do something about it.

If it were not for newspapers we would have never known about this, and after 2 years, it's clear TPD had no intention of coming clean.
