While unemployment is on the rise, one industry is hiring. Aerospace is booming and more than 50 of them joined together today for a job fair. One job seeker even found new hope about getting a job.

Sarah Ketcham, recent college graduate, said, "I've been applying to jobs basically as soon as they open for the past month and a half."

She hasn't been on the job hunt long but she's already seen how tough it is.

Ketcham said, "It's been kind of disheartening to keep getting those 'We're glad you've considered us.' I have a lot of those e-mails right now."

Sarah hopes her mechanical engineering degree will persuade managers at this job fair at Tulsa Tech. More than 50 aerospace employers are hiring.

Jennifer Bannister with M&M Manufacturing said, "Our company is growing. I mean the amount of work coming in we're growing and we need more employees."

And many people really want to get on the payroll.

Martha Webb-Jones with Spirit Aerosystems said, "I just had a guy a little bit ago offer to pack his bags and move to Malaysia if we needed him at our facility there."

Bannister added, "They get to find out about us and talk to us one-on-one, instead of just handing in an application and that's it."

It's that kind of face-to-face networking that job seekers like Sarah can appreciate.

Ketcham said, "I feel there is enough openings in Tulsa where I can find placement here."

She hopes she can soar, right into a new career.

She added, "It's a battle. I knew it would be but I'm staying strong."
