The Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has activated its National Response Team to assist the Tulsa Fire Marshal's Office in the investigation of the at the Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences.
The fire began about 5:00 this morning at the school at 17th St. and South Lewis Ave in Tulsa, OK.
The NRT is comprised of a team of fire and explosives experts from across the country specializing in large scale fire scene investigations.
Officials say the team of 16-20 members will arrive in Tulsa on Thursday and will begin digging on Friday. Officials hope to compete the investigation in 3 to 4 days.
The NRT responds when requested by a state or municipal department when additional resources are needed. The team is comprised of Certified Fire Investigators, Fire Protection and Electrical Engineers, Chemists and other investigative resources.
The NRT provides resources and expertise that most departments do not have available to them and responds at no cost to the city making the request.
