Tulsa police tell FOX23 a minivan hit and killed a pedestrian crossing the street around seven fifteen tonight.

Traffic is being diverted from this area.

The only lanes open in this area right now are westbound lanes at E. 11TH Street.

Police say a man dressed in dark clothing crossed E. 11th Street outside of the crosswalk when a minivan with a green light heading east hit and killed him.

FOX23 learned the victim’s girlfriend told police the man was on his way to a gas station down the street.

The driver of the minivan did stop. FOX23 is unsure if the driver will face any charges.

“The driver did admit to drinking at some point today,” Tulsa Police Cpl. Brian Collum said. “Right now he’s giving blood as required by state law in a fatality collision. Since we have such a large scene, we pretty much got the whole intersection blocked.”

FOX23 has confirmed with police that all lanes have been reopened.
