FOX23 has breaking news out of north Tulsa involving a hole in the 46th Street North Bridge over Highway 169. Repair efforts were underway all afternoon.
ODOT noticed the hole on the 46th Street North Bridge that crosses Highway 169 around 11 a.m. They immediately closed one of the westbound lanes on the bridge and also the highway exit heading that direction. Although crews worked quickly to repair the bridge, they've already spent several man-hours and a lot of money trying to keep the bridge open for drivers.
"We do have a history of emergency repairs on this bridge," said ODOT spokeswoman Kenna Carmon. "We have recently, this month in fact, been awarded a contract to replace the bridge and also modify the interchange here."
There is a signed $9 million contract to replace these two bridges.
