Fox23 learned new information about the way police stopped a shooting on the courthouse plaza in downtown Tulsa in 2012.

Andrew Dennehy is currently on trial, charged with shooting with intent to kill because he allegedly shot an Oklahoma Sheriff's Department deputy in the hand.

Fox23 was at the Tulsa Courthouse Friday during the testimony of the trial.

About half a dozen police officers and crime scene investigators took the stand.

Investigators with Tulsa police said that all the six cartridges in Dennehy's handgun were empty when they took the gun into evidence in March 2012.

They said they also located five shell casings from the guns of the deputies who exchange gunfire with Dennehy.

A surgeon testified that one of the bullets had gone through one of Dennehy's cheekbones, through the roof of his mouth and sinuses and stopped in the other side of his face.

Dennehy's lawyers said that he now has difficulty talking and eating as a result of those injuries.

These last two days the defense has tried to point out that Denney's actions that day were not in line with that of a rational, sane person.

Court is back in session on Tuesday and again Wednesday.

On Wednesday the defense witnesses are expected to take the stand.

Stay with Fox23 for the latest details in this case.

Very hard to believe only five rounds were shot between all the cops that opened fire, yet they couldn't find most of their own shell casings. Sounds like their investigation only went as far as necessary to prop up their version of events (and ignore the friendly-fire fiasco). TCSO should make the surveillance video public if they have nothing to hide (but obviously they do).
