The Osage County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a juvenile shot another juvenile that was reportedly trying to break into a home.
Officials said there was a 911 call just after 1 a.m. in Hominy. Deputies said the caller said a man was trying to break into her home. She told the 911 operator the man had broken glass out of the door and was trying to get into the house.
Osage County officials said a 17-year-old in the house got a gun and fired shots in the direction of the door. They said one of the shots hit the teen, 15-year-old Cole Davis. Davis was taken to the hospital and declared dead.
The brother of the 15-year-old, Christopher Davis, told FOX23 that his brother was killed when he tried to break into the home.
Davis said his brother was a good kid who got caught up in drugs and the wrong crowd. Davis said he had drugs in his past, but cleaned up his life and tried to clean up his brother's life.
He told FOX23 he thinks his brother was most likely on drugs when he tried to break into the home. He said he's sorry his brother put them through this ordeal.
The Osage County Sheriff's Office investigators are looking into the case and will submit their findings to the district attorney's office for review.
