Firefighters are investigating a large apartment fire in south Tulsa that damaged 16 units, leaving several families without homes.
The fire broke out around 1:30am at the Eagle Point Apartments on 71st Street between Yale and Sheridan.
A fire department spokesman on the scene says 16 units were damaged, 8 of those were very badly damaged. No one was hurt. FOX23's Melissa Hawkes spoke with some people who lost their homes in the fire, they are getting help from the Red Cross or staying with family members or friends.
At the height of the fire, more than 50 firefighters responded to fight the flames. At least one street in the area was blocked briefly while crews worked to put out the fire but it is back open now. Red Cross has assisted four families impacted by the fire.
