TFD currently in budget negotiations with Mayor Bartlett. This, while 147 firefighters, emts and paramedics are holding the layoff notificatons they received this morning during a TFD union meeting.
TFD Chief Allen LaCroix says city and union have today and tomorrow at the absolute latest to finalize any deal that does not include layoffs.
That deal may include a 5% reduciton in salaries and use of rainy day funds.

The Tulsa Fire Department has confirmed of 647 firefighters, 147 will receive a 7-day layoff notification set to be delivered Friday morning at a meeting.
In a press conference at City Hall Thursday morning, Fire Chief Allen LaCroix revealed that Mayor Bartlett has extended a substantial package to the Fire Department to save jobs, if they agree to a 5.2 percent salary cut.
The "deal" would include extracting $1.4M from the city's emergency reserve fund, if the fire union accepts his offer.
"I think the Mayor has stepped forward to make a very fair offer to save jobs and the community and we’re having problem to getting it past the labor union," LaCroix said.
If 147 firefighters are laid off, 30 of which are also paramedics, the department, LaCroix said, will be greatly affected.
"It will affect public safety, you can't lost 147 firefighters, it will be an impact."
