A suspected drunk driver hit and killed a 12-year-old Wagoner County boy riding his bike with his brother Friday night.

Wagoner police arrested Richard Roth on suspicion of first-degree manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and suspicion of driving under the influence.

The family told FOX23 12-year-old Billy Lord was riding his bike home on Story Avenue in Wagoner County with his brother when a suspected drunk driver hit and killed the middle schooler.

When FOX23’s Price McKeon went to the memorial Saturday, his brother Johnny wanted to talk about his only brother and his best friend. He talked about his brother while friends gathered around him for support with the children’s parents’ permission

Johnny said, “I found pieces of the idiot’s car.”

You could hear the anger and the heartache in Billy Lord’s brother’s voice.

Family member Diedra Greer said, “He loved his brother, that was his best friend in the whole world.

His brother said, “I hope the person that took him, I hope he’s getting what he deserves, prison.”

The family gave FOX23 a photo of the middle schooler who was killed Friday night by a suspected drunk driver.

Greer said, “Basically you rip a family apart driving drunk.”

His “Aunt DeeDee” told FOX23 the brothers were on their bikes on their way home from church just a few blocks from home.

She said, “They did no wrong. They did no wrong to anybody for this to happen to them. It was church. (They) loved church.”

“The last time I ever spoke to him was we were talking about girls at our school,” said Johnny.

Green spray paint marked the street by a memorial Saturday afternoon.

Police arrested Richard Roth after they say he hit and killed Billy while driving drunk, left the scene, then returned with his wife.

Greer said, “We’re never going to get that person back because you decided to drink and drive.”

Johnny showed McKeon his brother’s bike handle he said he found Saturday in the grass.

He said, “All that I saw was my brother get hit.”

Johnny told McKeon his favorite memory, “Whenever he called me a baby hippo.”

“Sweet, kind, caring, funny, just one of the best nephews I have had,” Greer said.

We learned Roth was booked into the Wagoner City Jail then transferred to the County Jail. Police said he will be held in jail until a court date scheduled for Monday.
