JENKS, Okla. - Quick Facts:
- Jenks Planning Commission approved the site of a new outlet mall
- Simon Premium Outlets previously planned the mall for west Tulsa
- Business owners in the area are looking forward to more people coming to town
This week the Jenks Planning Commission unanimously approved the site just south of the Creek Turnpike for the development of a new outlet mall.
Simon Premium Outlets previously planned to build the mall in west Tulsa, but later announced they would develop in Jenks. Some residents and business owners think it will help the city grow.
“It will generate a lot of traffic through Jenks which creates a lot of exposure for me and I appreciate that,” said James Pierce. He owns American Antiques on Main Street.
The city council will review the project for consideration at its meeting on December 21.
