TULSA, Okla. - Oklahoma music history is in the making as the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame brings their next induction show to the legendary Cain’s Ballroom on November 1, 2014.
A news conference July 29 will announce the 2014 inductees. Oklahoma Joe’s will provide lunch for the first 50 members of the media.
This year’s event will mark only the second time that the OMHOF induction show has been held outside of Muskogee in the history of the organization. In 2013, the show was held in Tulsa at the ORU Mabee Center.
Executive Director for the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, Jim Blair said, “this will be our first induction to focus on a genre and location. We are extremely excited to honor a number of Tulsa-based artists and look forward to doing similar inductions across the state.”
On June 27th, the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame awarded singer/songwriter, John Fullbright from Beardon, Oklahoma with the Rising Star Award in a ceremony held in Muskogee at the Hall of Fame’s Frisco Depot.
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, 401 S. 3rd St, Muskogee, OK is open to the public Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. “Live at The Frisco Depot” is presented every Thursday featuring local, regional, and national music acts.
