Tulsa Hills development news keeps coming. A brand new assisted living facility had it’s official grand opening today, just a day after the groundbreaking on the walk at Tulsa Hills, and on the heels of news about an outlet mall.
The Legend was built right on 71st Street across from all the Tulsa Hills shops, and that was intentional. They said with all there is to do in the area, they want their residents to be right in the middle of it all.
The Legend welcomed its first resident back in June, and now has more than 50—now the FULL facility is ready to fill to its capacity of 86. Administrators say it’s been designed to encourage interaction between residents as often as possible.
“And you can feel at home and be around your peers. There is nothing more enlightening that makes you feel better than being around your peers,” says Cindy Garrett, Residence Director.
This facility offers memory care. That means there’s extra security and medical attention for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
“It’s a safe environment; a controlled environment. It caters specifically to their needs: a little more oversight, those kinds of things,” says Garrett.
Matt Crain from the Southwest Tulsa Area Chamber says this facility opening up right in Tulsa Hills just adds to excitement over development in the area.
“You just begin to ask yourself where are all these people coming from? But they’re coming from far and wide,” says Crain.
They’re coming from far and wide, and at all stages of their lives.
“People are looking for a place to begin and a place to complete their lives. And it’s all right here,” says Crain.
