It may be the most terrifying phone call a parent can get: A stranger on the line says he's kidnapped your child and demands ransom.
Parents pay up only to learn they're victims of an elaborate and expensive hoax.
“The extortion subjects are very successful. So they end up getting a lot of money out of this, and that's the reason they are continuing,” an FBI agent told FOX23.
