    DRUMRIGHT, Okla. - Quick facts:

    • The Drumright Health Department will close.
    • The closure comes because of the state budget gap.
    • Employees will be moved to other health departments.

The Drumright Health Department is closing its doors starting at the end of June, because of the budget crisis at the state level.

Now, the department is operating on a reduced service schedule.

Their office open on Mondays and Wednesdays only. They will shut down June 29th.

The state is facing a $1.3 billion budget gap.

The department’s administrator said they are looking to save money and make sure they have money to operate the larger health departments in Creek County.

Now, Drumright has three fulltime staff members. Those employees will be placed in offices in Bristow and Sapulpa.

The patients who use the Drumright Health Department can go to the Cushing Department or other Creek County health departments.

Administrators said it would save $113,000 a year by closing this facility.

They hope to reopen it when money is available.
