Congregation votes to keep pastor accused of stealing nearly $1 million

The Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church met Wednesday night to talk about Pastor Willard Jones and his future after he was accused of stealing nearly $1 million from the church.
Jones was given a second chance and some aren’t happy about it. Despite the allegations, his congregation voted to keep him in the pulpit.
“The only thing I want to hear is Pastor Jones’ resignation,” one churchgoer said.
Federal prosecutors said Joness stole nearly $1 million in funds to support an expensive lifestyle.
Jones pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Several members of the church told FOX23 that Jones was present for the Wednesday night meeting but did not address the congregation.
Some hoped Jones would resign so the church could move forward, but others said they are ready to move on from the church entirely.
