Four teens are taken to the hospital after smoking an illegal herbal substance they say was given to them by a Sand Springs woman.

Myrna Rose Montgomery was arrested by Sand Springs police after they found the teens disoriented and found drug paraphernalia in her purse.

Police say they were called to the home just before 10pm Saturday to respond to a possible overdose. The officers found several teenagers who appeared to be disoriented at the home.

The arrest report states one teen was in a daze and kept saying “this is unreal.” Another teen at the home was extremely emotional and officers say a teenage girl at the home had slurred speech and seemed to be having trouble processing thoughts. All four teenagers told police they had smoked a substance given to them by Montgomery.

Officers questioned Montgomery about the substance and she told officers she had given it to the teens. She told the officers she had given them “the legal herbal stuff” on accident, saying she didn’t realize they were smoking the cigarette with the herb mixture. She told officers the herb was in her purse and gave them permission to look inside. They found several pouches of the substance in her purse.

Two other adults were in the home at the time. They were the parents of two children at the home. The couple told officers they were in the shower and were not aware the teens had been smoking the substance given to them by Montgomery.

The couple told officers they knew Montgomery through their church. Montgomery is the woman’s “Celebrate Recovery” sponsor. There were also several bottles of alcohol left out in the home, but Montgomery told officers no one had given it to the teens.

Montgomery was arrested on four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled and dangerous substance. Montgomery is being held on a $4,750 bond.

If you don't know who the lawmakers for this state are, you can google and find them. Find out who they are and email them and let them know that this crap that is "legal" in our State IS KILLING our children! and we need a broad spectrum ban on it. As a mother I'm asking that you do this. I've sent two emails already. My 20 year old Son, a Veteran from Afghanistan cant stop smoking it, And it's killing him slowly before my very eyes. I'm begging for your help.
