Westbound lanes of Turner Turnpike open, grass fires still in area

The Turnpike Authority says parts of the Turner Turnpike are open again.
The lanes were closed on Saturday afternoon due to smoke from nearby grass fires. The westbound lanes of the turnpike were closed between the Tulsa and Bristow gates.
Heavy smoke was blowing across the roadway, officials say the lanes could close again if needed. State highways are also closed in Creek County.
The Turnpike Authority is recommending alternate routes if you need to travel from Tulsa to Oklahoma City:
1. US412 (Cimmaron Turnpike) west to I-35 then south on I-35 to Oklahoma City
2. US75 South to I-40 West to Oklahoma City
