The US Postal Service announced it plans to stop delivering mail on Saturdays.
USPS has been struggling financially for some time. In 2012, it lost $16 billion. In the past six years, losses totaled $41 billion.
There are some exceptions. People who receive packages including mail-order medicine and priority and express mail would still receive them on Saturdays.
The change is expected to take place in August, saving the service about $2 billion a year. USPS hasn't said how it will cancel mail service without congressional approval.
