Flames spread through a south Tulsa home trapping two dogs inside. It happened on 72nd E. Ave. off of 101st and Memorial early Sunday morning.

FOX23 was on the scene as fire fighters worked to put out the fire.

Tulsa fire fighters told FOX23 that no one was inside the home at the time of the fire, but two dogs had to be freed.

Around 11 a.m. Tulsa fire crews made went to a home after neighbors reported a house fire.

David Snodgrass said he was out raking leaves when he first smelled smoke but it was what he saw they caused him to act fast.

“I ran over here and I saw the flames coming out the side of the house and I immediately called 911,” Snodgrass said.

Snodgrass says as they waited for fire crews he feared other houses could be in danger of the six foot flames bellowing from the back of the home.

“The wind was coming from the south and my biggest concern was my next door neighbor's house might catch on fire,” Snodgrass said.

Fire officials tell FOX 23 they were challenged because the front door was blocked so they had to find another entrance.

Fire crews got both dogs out but one had to be revived.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what started the fire but they do know the damage it caused.

It received pretty significant fire damage in the kitchen, dining room living area and smoke damage throughout.

Fire officials tell fox23 the two dogs are OK and they are still working on finding the owners of the home and this fire remains under investigation.
