In celebration of Sir Paul McCartney’s return to the BOK Center May 29 and 30, several downtown streets surrounding the BOK Center have been temporarily renamed in his honor.

The street names, representing song titles from the Beatles, include Abbey Road (3rd Street), Penny Lane (Denver Ave.), Blackbird Blvd (1st Street) and All Together Crossing (Frisco).

McCartney returns to the BOK Center as part of the venue’s fifth anniversary concert series. In 2009, McCartney headlined the BOK Center’s first anniversary concert.

“We are honored to have Paul back as part of our fifth anniversary celebration,” said SMG General Manager John Bolton. “We wanted a unique way to recognize the iconic music of Sir Paul and the Beatles, as well as welcome him back to Tulsa.”

SMG Tulsa worked with the City of Tulsa’s Traffic Operations Department to identify the best locations and coordinate installation of the signs. The signs will stay up through the end of the month.

A limited number of tickets are still available for the May 30 concert and are available online at www.bokcenter.com or by calling 1-866-7-BOKCTR.
