Tulsa morning radio show hosts Cash and Carey are nominated for an Academy of Country Music award.
The duo is among five nationwide nominees for Medium Market On-Air Personality of the Year by the Academy of Country Music Awards. This is the popular duo’s second consecutive ACM Personality of the year nomination.
KWEN Program Director Karla Cantrell gives her take on why Cash and Carey deserve the award. “Serving the community is what sets Cash and Carey apart and we are so proud that they’ve been nominated,” said Cantrell. “From helping children in need through the Salvation Army Angel Tree to driving to Miranda Lambert’s new store to bring back the first pictures, Cash and Carey have become a part of their listeners’ lives. They love to have fun every morning, they love the country artists and they adore their listeners. We’re just glad and humbled that the ACMs recognized them for a second year in a row.”
Cash and Carey are also among three finalists for the Oklahoma Association of Broadcaster’s 2012 Personality of the Year Award, along with Dave and Lindsey from Cox Media Group sister station KRAV-fm.
The ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS honor country music’s best and introduce the industry’s hottest emerging talent. The awards will be given out on April 7th in Las Vegas. Voting for this year’s event begins on March 25th.
