TULSA, Okla. - A woman who was arrested last month on suspicion of check fraud has been arrested again on suspicion of the same crime.
Tulsa police arrested Crystal Martinson and Seth Wahnee for allegedly stealing mail and creating fake checks with stolen account numbers.
On Wednesday, Tulsa police started reaching out to potential victims of the alleged fraud; they say Martinson has not learned her lesson.
On Monday, a woman came to a convenience store at Pine and Mingo and tried to cash a large check.
The ID the woman used said she was 26. Something didn't look right, so the cashier took a picture and called police.
Tulsa police recognized the woman as someone they just arrested last month, Martinson.
Police arrested Martinson and her boyfriend Wahnee on suspicion of identity theft, concealing stolen property and other charges.
Police found check printing equipment, stolen credit cards and new electronics at their home.
Last month, police arrested Martinson and charged her with similar crimes after a fraud ring bust at this hotel near 31st and Memorial.
This time, police say the couple stole a large amount of mail from homes near 71st near Lewis and Harvard. Police believe in all, Martinson may have stolen as much as $50,000 from nearly 100 people, some who may not even know it yet.
Police suggest homeowners get a locked mailbox if they can. Police are looking for more potential victims in this case.
If you think you could have been a victim, contact police.
