John was a beautiful person who had a passion for cooking, cycling, running and enjoying life. He was a great friend to my daughter when they went to middle school. He had a life energy about him that was all his own. He marched to the beat of his own drum; not influenced to do what others perceived to be the "cool" thing or what was popular. If it made him happy and those he loved happy, that's what he did. He loved his family and spoke of them always. Tulsa and John's friends and family have lost a tremendous person!! I hope people will learn from tragedies like this, to stop for just a moment to acknowledge the person around you; get to know them; find good in him or her, regardless if you think they are different. Find something wonderful to say to him/her and about him/her while they're still with us. Don't wait until they're gone to be their friend. John's family and those who knew him best will miss him greatly, but will always have a part of him with them, because that's the kind of magnetic person John was; to know him was to love him.

I had infrequent acquaintances with John and often donated bicycle parts to his cause, rebuilding all the bicycles in the world, one bicycle at a time. John was an avid bicycle rider and builder An interesting individual. Makes me think I should pay more attention to everybody. Condolences to johns friends and family.
