Tulsa firefighters surprised a Reasor's cashier with hundreds of dollars on Thursday.

FOX23 learned more than half a dozen fire stations around Tulsa teamed up and raised money to help a woman struggling financially this holiday season.

"I am truly, truly, amazing blessed," said Mary Holmes, the cashier.

She had tears in her eyes because she can now start to think about getting a kitchen table.

"I am so so grateful," she said.

FOX23 was there when firefighters surprised Holmes with hundreds of dollars.

"There's just something special about her," said Scott Moeller, a Tulsa firefighter.

"Very surprised, I was not expecting this," she said.

Moeller said his station wanted to give back to the community.

"Well, we've been coming here for years and Mary's so kind to us," he said.

So, he decided to give back by raising money for her at the fire house. But station seven didn't stop there.

"We took some donation boxes over to each station and we asked all the guys to chip in some money for Mary," he said.

More than half a dozen stations raised hundreds of dollars for Holmes.

She also got another surprise; Reasor's gave her a gift card for groceries.

"What I need, whatever I need and that's truly a blessing from God," she said.
