Before everyone starts speaking their mind let me state first of all I am a family member of Juan the man that was shot and I know perfectly the stress level police officer are exposed to specially with all the latest unfortunately events in our society but let me expose a couple of point so everyone could just give it a thought. Like someone posted above out of so many officers present at the scene only one felt his life was in danger and emptied half a clip on this man. For any of you civilians if in self defense you shoot a man once or twice it is considered self defense but if you shoot him seven times I am sure you would be answering a lot of questions and facing murder charge, that is for an untrained civilian. Now Police arrived at scene at around 9:00 pm and had about to hours at the scene trying to talk to a mentally ill man and according to his roommate he told police from the start about the man condition and that there was a BB gun at the apartment which was all ignored by this P.O. We all know the training a P.O. goes throug and the shooting occurred at 11:00 pm so they had about two hours of negotiation where they could of gotten many nonleathel options (bean bags, rubber bullets, tear gas etc.) But none of that and even more during all of that time they had more than enough time to take a good covert position plus all body armor worn. There were no shots from Juan since BB guns dont make any loud noise when shot so what really got so scared a trained man with bullet proof jacket. Seven shots to the chest and abdomen area, think about it could of being one of your family members

The reels keep rolling with jackpot on the pay line ;-( I wondered why it was so difficult for the room mate to tell the cOps TÜ understand that it was a toy gun language barrier. Heck I firmly vote NO to keeping an officer on the street who gets scared and doesn't understand. NO put him on the border scouting for prarie dogs.

Who Schmoe #8^}} First of all, you and me ain't makin house calls to dispense that 1% solution in a professional effort to preserve the peace. So we ain't gonna be viewed the same way in a court of law. But if you take a sec tO read this then even a guy/goy like you will understand why it is more imPortant for the courts to view this tragedy in it's true light. I know McCop didn't wake up yesterday and pull his belt up and say allrighty ahm a gonna get me one today this poor cop feels like his career life choice was wrong. he became a cop to prevent people from savagely killing people ooooPssss he did that yesterday. I'm not blaming him I'm blaming his lame training. The lawyer that presents this case infringe will say Your honor this police department neglected this officer by not training him properly for this situation. They will never blame it on the individual. They blame it on the whole department because that's where the deep hole of money is held in retention through insurance provided by your friendly neighborhood FOP. So let's compare apples to apples http://books.google.com/books?id=zY0O7OIhd2MC&pg=PA83&lpg=PA83&dq=lawsuits+for+suicide+by+cop&source=bl&ots=OEVs2EbZKX&sig=5IOqVRl-HL0CKlm-YM63gX8Eduk&hl=en&sa=X&ei=EMIiUdLTKYPr2QWFs4C4Aw&ved=0CCsQ6AEwAA

WyoSchmoe #8-]] If you had an ounce of retention in something else besides your kicked then you would KnOw that it was sated by an authoritative source: Leland Ashley ---- you know it's right in the news story. I'm surprised the media didn't also publish where the officer lives and the names of his children and wife and where they go to school and work, all in the name of the news I guess
