Muskogee police say they believe a man's medical condition may have played a role in a deadly crash.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. Friday near 24th and Okmulgee.
Officials tell FOX23 News that a 2005 Mercury Sable driven by Michael Billings, 74, was northbound on South 24th approaching West Okmulgee when he ran into the back of a 2009 Hyundai Elantra, that was stopped at a traffic light.
The Elantra was driven by Loretta Goodwin, 77. Goodwin's passenger, Jacob Roberts, 21, was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident, reports show.
Billings, Goodwin and Roberts were all transported to Muskogee area hospital, where they later died, police said.
"The two people in the vehicle were related," Cpl. Michael Mahan said. "We have a family member who lost her adopted son and her mother on the same day. And so that's a definite tragedy,"
Billings' medical condition has not been released.
