A picture brought back a painful memory.

"Oh Lord have mercy, I cried," said Leah Doyle.

Doyle snapped a shot of surveillance video captured on 71st Street, near the mall. She believes the drivers of a dark-colored Nissan Altima broke into her F-250 last weekend.

"I told him to get out of my truck," said Kenneth Dollarhide.

Dollarhide said it's the same car he tried chasing down later that same day.

"He was going to give them a good whooping," said Dollarhide's girlfriend, Pantera Blaine.

Dollarhide and Blaine were walking back to their F-250 Saturday afternoon when they saw someone in the truck.

"He said, 'Hey, what the hell are you doing near my truck?'" said Blaine.

Then the chase was on.

Dollarhide never caught the two men. He said they threw their Nissan in reverse, ran into a tree, then a concrete sign, then they hopped the curb.

"Then they took off on flat tires down the road," said Dollarhide.

"Their bumper came flying off in one direction," said Blaine.

FOX23 has learned the F-250 is among the most broken into vehicles on the road. The thieves clipped Dollarhide's bumper and nearly ripped it off when they sped past.

"They stole my makeup bag and one of my daughter's presents out of the vehicle," said Blaine.

The couple lost more than $500 in property. Dollarhide's deductible is another $500.

The couple doesn't have a clear description of the thieves, but said they remember the dark-colored Nissan Altima.
