Suspected serial groper arrested

US Marshals arrested a registered sex offender in Joplin today.
Marshals say Jaime Hartness, 32, was arrested in Joplin after a vehicle pursuit. A warrant was issued for Hartness after the Tulsa Police Department Sex Crimes Unit along with Broken Arrow and Bixby Police him as the suspect in three recent incidents of sexual battery in the area of 71st and Memorial Dr.
Police say the same suspect is known to have committed at least one offense in Broken Arrow and Bixby.
32-year-old Jaime Hartness is a registered sex offender from Carthage, Missouri. A warrant is currently outstanding for Hartness for four counts of sexual battery and three counts of indecent exposure.
Police say one incident occurred in the Woodland Hills Mall Parking lot and the other two incidents occurred inside nearby businesses. In one of the incidents, Hartness also exposed himself to a 16-year old victim.
Hartness may be driving a 2002 gray Mercury Sable with Oklahoma tag 772-FIC.
