The Tulsa Police Financial Crimes Unit is trying to identify the person in a photo who might be responsible for a recent car break-in.

Shannon Conger was the victim of the car break-in on July18. She said she has learned through the ordeal that places that appear to be safe may not be.

She said that she placed her purse on the floorboards on the passenger side of her vehicle, covered it with other belongings and then locked her car. She then went to go play soccer on the fields near 107th and Delaware.

"It was broad daylight and it was a packed parking lot with tons of people coming in and out," said Conger, "The door was locked and I thought we were safe."

An hour later, Conger said that came back to her vehicle to find that the passenger side front window was broken and her purse was missing.

Conger told FOX23 that whoever stole her purse quickly racked up fraudulent charges.

"He charged probably more than $1,000 on my debit and credit card," said Conger.

She said that she immediately filed a police report and closed her bank accounts. She said that burglar continues to try to write checks from her closed account.

Conger said that she knows that leaving her purse in the car was a bad move and she will never do it again. Still, she adds that she wants the burglar caught.

"I just wouldn't want it to happen to someone else," said Conger
