The student accused of killing a pit bull with a bow and arrow is expected to play in a high school basketball tournament.

Caisen Green is at the center of the controversy, but the school and his lawyer say he plans on playing against Beggs on Friday night.

While the district attorney works to figure out if a controversial photo reveals a crime, Beggs basketball player, Doolee Wolf prepares for the big game.

"We need to stay focused and that's their deal to worry about, and we just need to go through our game plan and be successful,” says Wolf.

Doolee says he heard about the photo on the news and even his own coach had words with team about Facebook.

"He said be smart about what you do, because everything comes back to reflect negative or positive on you,” says Wolf.

The photo has reflected negatively on Caisen Green. The teen has garnered worldwide attention and angered many for what appears to some people as animal abuse.

"It's just a bad decision that he made, and very unfortunate for him,” says Beggs Athletic Director Justin Norman.

Because of recent death threats against Caisen extra security measures are being taken to protect the students of both schools.

"We worked hand-in-hand with the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah to provide four marshals on their staff, and we are going to provide our own security along with our own police department,” says Norman.

Caisen’s attorney tells FOX23 he is nearly a straight A student and a good kid who was simply defending his family and his property.

FOX23 spoke with the district attorney in this case and he says so far he hasn't made a decision whether or not to file charges against Caisen. He is still reviewing all of the information.

The Cherokee Nation sent us this statement in regards to the extra security for Friday’s game:

Sequoyah routinely stages school resource officers at events both at and away from our school. The safety of our students, their families and any fans has always been, and will always be, of the utmost importance. Appropriate measures are always taken to ensure everyone’s well-being.”

Okay, first of all, no matter WHAT kind of dog was killed, it was not okay to post it as a "warning" on Facebook. And thank you for your comment's Debbie, it really show's how little you know. The majority of Pitbull owners are responsible people, who I'm sure just like yourself, love our dog's like they are family and would not let them run the streets unattended. You need to read up on the subject before you open your mouth and judge an entire group of people by your sterotype. Yes, I know that there are people who use this breed to fight but that is a small group and they are the ones who have given the dog a bad name. I did hear they also fight chickens, would you care to give me your opinions on how bad chicken owners are?

This dogs death is another reason to keep your dog safe at home, to not permit your dog to ever become a loose or stray dog! If pit BULLY people actually cared about dog welfare, they would say "this is another reason to keep your dogs safe at home, in your own yard." Have you seen any pit monger say that? Nope, and you won't, because dog welfare is not of importance to them. Attacking others? Now that's fun! Grrr. But preventing dog suffering and death? "Why?" ask the pit bully people. We don't care about dog suffering and death. That's why we are attracted to the fighting dogs!

If this dog was not a pit and but was killed by a pit BULLY dog, would that be OK? If Green had Presa's and let them out in the yard and the wandering pit was killed by the Presa's, would that be OK? I wonder how many pit BULLY people, who have attacked Green via email or FB post, have also contacted pit BREEDERS, to encourage them to stop breeding more pits, so that fewer pits would be killed in pounds and in pits from coast to coast? I suspect the answer to the last question is ZERO. Get educated about pit BULLY people. Most are attracted to pits for the vicarious power and aggression that they receive from pit ownership. They do NOT care about dog welfare, just like their fore bearers, the original pit fanciers (fighters) did not care about pit welfare. Proof is the pit bully people's hard work to keep the current pit crisis just as it is. The crisis: a million too many pits/pit mixes being born annually in the US, so that many must be killed in pounds. Pits suffering and dying before, during and after dog fights. Pits languishing on chains their entire lives, abused and neglected. "Don't change this," say the pit bully people. Don't be mislead. Pit BULLY people will fight and attack over an occasional pit bull such as this one, but that's merely because they LOVE the fight, even when no good comes from a fight. No, it is never because they actually care about dog welfare. They do take the death of this pit as a personal attack, but pits being dragged to their deaths in pounds, hour after hour, simply because pits are breeding like flies, that is perfectly acceptable to pit bully people. This is all acceptable to the pit bully people, as they only care about themselves and their ability to breed/acquire and own the dog of their choice. Suffering, dying pits? "What problem?" say the pit BULLY people.

This punk is in for it. People are not ever going to let this go. I hope he is charged and convicted for his crimes. If not, he will constantly be hassled, making life extremely difficult for him. he goes to college, people are going to track him down and smear him. Goes for a job, the employer will be notified of his wrong doings and will not want anything to do with him. What he did was cruel, and apparently he is a dimwit for posting pics and bragging about it. It is obvious that he wasn't protecting anyone, and he'll pay a hefty price either way, but being convicted by the law lets him off a lot easier, as public humiliation and scrutiny by people will be justice for the poor helpless dog he killed.

My ass he was defending his family. He is a liar and needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. I wish the laws would be changed to equal same punishment if it would have been a human. I wish this kid would get first degree murder and premeditated murder because he is a PUNK!!! He is going to do this to more animals as well as then eventually turn to humans. He is a sick psycho freak that needs to be put in a institution for the rest of his life and so does his parents for condoning this form of behavior. Anyone was to do this to one of my furbabies who are treated like family and cared for like family, and they would be finding themselves 6 feet in the ground. I protect what is mine and defend what is mine to the fullest extent. And for the coaches to allow this kid to play in a game after what he has done is as bad as Micheal Vick fighting dogs and getting slapped on the wrist.

Wonder if Cherokee Countys assigned just one deputy to be the little ba$tards bodyguard of if they'll all be working in shifts? Just got a email message from a newspaper reporter I know who spoke with the prosecutor today: "I spoke with the prosecutor yesterday, and he said he expects a decision on potential charges early next week. I get the feeling they might not feel they have enough to charge on, but that's just a guess." Just as I suspected. But, when Karma gets through with Caisen's (female dog) a$$ I'll bet he'll be wishing he'd done his jail time instead!
