A call about a missing propane tank led deputies in Rogers County to $25,000 in stolen property.

The sheriff's office suspects 46-year-old Daniel Baxter was involved in the thefts. He faces charges of grand larceny and knowingly concealing stolen property.

For the past year, Rogers County detectives believe Baxter had been stealing from a man who died.

"I think our suspect had befriended this victim sometime in the past and knew all the things he had," said Rogers County Sheriff’s Investigator.

Authorities believe when the victim passed away Baxter began stealing anything he could get his hands on from the property.

Detectives believe two other people helped Baxter steal from other victims in Rogers County. Deputies found a four-wheeler, dirt bikes, a boat and a washing machine.

"These individuals that deal in this you don't see a history of work or anything else. They're career criminals; they wake up and victimize someone every day," said Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton.

Walton expects two more arrests and more charges.

"Our message is here if you're going to be a thug and a thief, go somewhere else," said Walton.

Baxter is being held on a $4,000 bond.

If you know any more about the stolen property you are encouraged to call the Rogers County Sheriff's Office.
