Ok, I have been around pitts all my life. They are some of the best dogs, and yes, if raised right i would leave my child in a room with a pitt. I owe my life to a pitt. I love these dogs and can't say enough good things about them. Any dog can be "vicious", it all depends on how you raise and treat them. Banning the breed for what some dogs do, is like banning people, because some people have murdered people. All it is, is ignorace and racism. Any dog, just like any person can be mean if treated wrong. These dogs are great with families and children. If you have never been around them, shut your mouth because you don't know anything about them.

So Adam Paluka wimped out. Why do politicians listen to pit nutters when the majority of people would be thrilled to see these land-sharks banned? Last summer, when an election was held in Miami-Dade, Florida, on whether or not to keep the 1989 ban on pit bulls, because pit nutters were marching, appearing on talk shows and posting on internet websites, TV stations and newspapers were predicting the pit bull ban would be overturned. But when the votes were counted, an overwhelming two-thirds majority voted to keep the pit bull ban in place. For some reason, politicians today seem to think "loud" and "majority" are synonyms and they aren't. Paluka needs to reintroduce the bill, stop catering to dangerous dog owners and do what is best for the people of Oklahoma and the people of Oklahoma would be much better off without pit bulls!

Umm, yes I did allow my little children to play with my pits even chewing on bones like any dog would do. My children could play with them, ride them, chew and bite on the dogs ears even, and every pit I raised from a pup I trusted to be a good protector and playmate for my children. As the majority of the people in here have said, its not the dogs, its the owners that are at fault for bad dogs. So if you have had nothing but bad veiws of the dogs "YOUR FAMILY" raised and only seen (what was it you said) one in fifty turn out good, then I would be VERY cautious of you and your family. So have a nice day!

Alemon :-) pets are a reflection of the person or persons that interact with them. My dog chewed up my coat headphones shoes dug in the trash and shredded that. I finally had enough and put her in her box she busted out of that. In the box. She knows she misbehaved. In the box ?? I miss her when she's in detention but I can't let her run over me. I could never hit her hard enough to get her attention. It takes a while. But the end product is worth it. I have a pet that not only watches out for me but also the neighbors.

First off "Aleman" Petey was NOT a Bull Terrier. And having grown up with nothing but Pit Bulls from a toddler to an adult I had no problems with ever coming close to being sent to the ER. Perhaps gathering facts instead of spewing what you think" are facts perhaps you'd have an argument. Ignorance is NOT bliss but its clear you're IGNORANT!

And they play guitar and sing kubaya and take flowers to the elderly, these monsters were bred to kill...tell the truth would you leave a 4 year old child in a room by itself with a pit bull chewing on a bone...don't think so

MaxiMom this is the plug that stops most irate inbred ignoramuses with pit hate is to point out that pits were the handlers choice to detect the breathing of victims that were trapped six floors down in the rubble of the WTC. very strong dedicated loving and sensitive creatures. I'm fortunate to have two that lead me through the darkness.

My mail man wont deliver my mail if my little "rat terrier" is lose in my chain linked yard, I have to keep him on a chain in the back yard because if my dog comes to the fence and barks at him, he wont leave my mail in the mail box that is outside the fence. (go figure he’s a mail man) I have raised pit bulls in the past and absolutely love them. There a great breed of dog, that is lovable, protective, and trustworthy. I have found them to be calm tempered as any dog. I do not have one now and have not for years because of "ignorant hateful stereo tying people" who hate things just because of a few bad one. GET EDUCATED there not evil, but are subject to abuse like anything else. Saying pit bulls are bad is like saying guns are bad, again GET EDUCATED, it is not the animals it’s the people who make them bad. In addition, my dogs NEVER learned or was trained to lock, and everyone I had, I never seen them do it, ever! Mind you, I trusted the ones I raised and trained from pups, that does not mean I would trust any dog that I did not raise. I personally believe that if you have a dog, any dog, in the city or not, it needs to be fenced and not running loss. I also believe that one should make ever caution to lock their fence gates. Make it to were your gate can not be opened by a child, like locking it with a two dollar latch, so little fingers cannot open from either direction. Here is an excellent documentary on this very issue. Get educated and watch it. It is called “Beyond the myth”.
