The FAA says as many as three people were killed Sunday night when a small plane crashed in the backyard of a home in Collinsville.

It happened between 13th Street and 14th Street on Broadway. Neighbors believe the home was vacant. “I saw the plane nose dive into that backyard,” said neighbor Debra Thompson. “It was horrible.”

“I heard it and then boom the explosion was so loud,” said another neighbor.

The FAA reports the plane was leaving from Tulsa and was flying to Kansas. Collinsville police, and fire crews along with Tulsa County Sheriff and the medical examiner were on the scene.

No one was injured on the ground.

My wife and I were eating dinner and heard a strange noise like trees breaking looked around but didn't see nothing. Then we heard of the plane crash in town. Then about 7:45 sheriff was out here and found a big part of the plane skin about 30 yards from the house. We live 2 miles from crash site.

It was scary! I was driving home with my mom and daughter when we heard a unusual sound an I looked in my rearview mirror and saw the back of the plane as it hit the ground. Then there was a big boom and then a large cloud of smoke and fire. Grass and stuff fell on my car. I turned my car around and made sure everyone outside was ok. I've never experienced that before. I pray for everyone!
