Shoppers who were lined up at stores across Tulsa rushed in to nab great deals on electronics, clothing, linens, cookware and much more.

Shoppers we talked to say they got some great deals.  Among them $155 for an iPod, $187 for an HP laptop computer, and $300 for a 50-inch television.

Tulsa area Best Buy locations were among the most popular for shoppers.  Best Buy opened at midnight to a flood of shoppers who had lined up for hours. Target stores opened at 9 o'clock on Thanksgiving night, and were also filled with shoppers looking to grab deals.

One shopper at Tulsa Promenade, TU law student Devon Douglass, said she waited for hours for a crock pot.  Douglass even treated FOX23's Kristin Tallent to a rendition of "Silent Night."

Retailers are now preparing for "Cyber Monday," the Monday after Thanksgiving, which is considered the biggest day of the year for online shopping, and the last day for great deals on electronics according to

So far, only one minor incident was reported: a couple of people got snippy at an area Sears as coupons were being handed out late Thursday night.

Police report no serious incidents in stores or parking lots.

FOX23 did not find any WalMart employees protesting around Tulsa area WalMarts, although employees in many other cities nationwide did participate in the planned walkout to protest working on Thanksgiving day.

In addition, it isn't all good for everyone who sacrifices sleep to shop.  The "Wall Street Journal" reports many of the bargains being advertised as doorbusters were actually available for lower prices earlier in the year.  It also found retailers often sell lower-quality items at the deepest discounts on Black Friday.

Other big shopping days include those before-and-after Christmas sales.  However, sales are less likely between Dec. 9 and Dec. 13, according to  "Free shipping day" is Dec. 17, when many retailers offer free shipping on those online purchases.
