A pair of suspected phone thieves are posing for the camera and end up on the victim's Facebook page.

Police said a woman reported her purse stolen inside a bar near 61st Street and South Lewis Avenue on Sept. 16.

"A few hours later up on her Facebook page comes these photos of the suspects," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Kurt Dodd.

The pictures are known as “selfies,” in which people take a photo of themselves and post it to social media.

Police released three photos of the women. Two women took selfies in a car and there was another picture of one of the women gazing out the window. All three photos were uploaded to the victim's Facebook.

"Every time she takes a photograph it automatically uploads to Facebook," said Dodd.

“She” is the victim who told police she got her purse stolen at Mad Murphy's Irish Pub on 59th Street and South Avenue.

"When we got the report we thought it automatically syncs to your Facebook and we all immediately check our phones, 'Oh my gosh what is going on here?'" said Dodd.

The story gets fishy after the purse was stolen.

"Two guys approach her and say, “We can get your purse back,'"' said Dodd.

Police said the woman told them the men phone her purse but was her smartphone was missing.

"She talks to the guys about getting her phone back and the guys tell her, 'The girls who stole your purse took photos with your phone and they are not going to give their phone back,'" said Dodd.

The victim got fed up and reported it to police.

In one of the selfies you can see the women are near a Braums. Viewers on Facebook believe it's the Braums in the 7100 block of East Admiral Place. FOX23 News checked it out and the signs and buildings seen in the photo look similar to what is on that block.

Several people have responded on Facebook including tips pointing to one woman. Police need your help to get them identified.

So the victim didnt report the theft until someone approached them about getting her purse back? Somethings not right here, either the police are confused or the reporter is.

Dear Ms Becky: You say that yer kin got the phone turned on on Sept 20. The news reports their pictures being posted on this womans Facebook account on the 16th of September. You need to tell a better lie than that if you expect anyone to believe that they didn't steal that phone. Makes YOU look phony.

So you're saying that the phone company turned the phone on and left all the settings the same? WOW

Wow people want to talk bad and make things racial yet don't now what happened. Those woman didn't steal anything they happen to be my family so I know this for a fact. They purchased a pone from a man at the flea market and the phone company turned it on with no problem on Sept. 20th. Next time check facts before slandering people. They turned in the phone to the police station earlier after the story was first aired.

Nobody ever lost a dime underestimating the intelligence or honesty of "African" Americans. They just can't help it.
