Rogers County Deputies contacted DHS after a four-year old and 11-year old were found standing in the middle of the road on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials say Rogers County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the Foyil area of Rogers County, after someone reported seeing an unsupervised child crying in the middle of the road.
Deputies say the caller said it was an ongoing problem, with the kids not being properly supervised and ‘today was the last straw.’
Deputies found the kids standing in the road and when asked about their mother the 11-year old said she was at the store. The little girl told deputies when her mom leaves, the four year old sneaks out the house trying to find their mom.
Officials say deputies followed the girls inside the house and noticed a foul odor in the home and observed plies of dirty clothes, dirty dishes, along with roaches and dog feces all over the carpet. There were also two more small children in the house under the age of ten.
DHS Child Welfare and the mother agreed to a safety plan that released her five children to her sister for the next couple of days.
