Tulsa police are investigating the possible homicide of a missing person in west Tulsa.

Sergeant Dave Walker tells FOX23's Abbie Alford they believer there are two suspects in the homicide of 54-year old Robert Sampson.  His death is Tulsa's 17th homicide of 2013.

According to detectives, Sampson's body was found on Thursday afternoon inside a home near Charles Page Blvd. & 49th W. Avenue. Officers said a landlord reported Sampson missing on March 6th after not seeing him and not receiving rent.

On Thursday, the landlord went to Sampson's home and noticed some blood. Police say the scene appeared that someone tried to clean up some of the blood. Police say the body was so badly decomposed they could not make out many distinguishing features.

Walker said "This is not going to be a clean investigation. They are going to have to get down and dirty to solve this case."

Neighbors say crime has been a problem in this area, but a homicide is very out of the ordinary.

"They seemed like good people, you never heard from them. They never give no noise (sic). They seemed like normal people like me, I never seen no problems going on over there," Tommy Parris told FOX23.

The medical examiner will determine cause of death. Tulsa police said they are actively pursuing leads in this case.

Walker also said Sampson's car is an "interesting piece of evidence." Police are looking for Sampson's 1998 midnight blue Ford Explorer with the Oklahoma tag number 972-DNY.

If you see it, call police or Crime Stoppers 918-956-COPS.
