Tulsa police arrested 4 people as part of a burglary investigation in east Tulsa. Police made the arrests at the Meadows Apartments, near 28th and Garnett around 7 on Wednesday night.

TPD Capt. Mike Williams tells FOX23 reporter Brittany Jeffers that a concerned citizen led police to the scene and a K-9 officer helped locate the suspects.

"To catch four burglars at once, we have no idea how may burglaries we might have stopped in the future,' said Captain Williams.

Williams says that three of the suspects complied with officers, but one of them barricaded himself in the building until the K-9 officer was utilized.

Officers recovered a stash of stolen items when they got inside the apartment.

"There were flat screen televisions and a bunch of electronics and video games," said Williams.

Officers can't yet release the names of those who were arrested.

The number of home burglaries traditionally spike in the summer months. I think that light timers and Fake TV (www.faketv.com) are excellent solutions to deter burglars. Also, playing anti-theft home occupancy sounds MP3 or a CD (sells on Amazon or at http://www.webensource.com/burglar_deterrent_cd/ ) in home while away is a great way to scare burglar that someone is in.
